What are we up to?
Here at For ALL the players we are committed to finding and sharing the most relevant news and insight we can. We do this because we have a passion for this hobby.
Occasionally one of our team will post a little bit about what they have been doing recently. More than likely it will be gaming related, but who knows what they will write about, it’s up to them. We hope you will enjoy this new weekly article and maybe, just maybe, you will get to know us all a little better.
This week it’s the turn of Senior Editor, Stacey Knowles.

Stacey is the suave, sophisticated, worldly-wise figure of the team, always ready with a witty retort, fashionable pocket square, and Egyptian cotton handkerchief (for the purposes of lending to young ladies in distress). Always ready to break his fast in the manner of a gentleman, Stacey believes that the first meal of the day is the most important, and rum is the most important ingredient in a healthy, balanced diet.
Having enjoyed the delights of video games for many more years than some members of the team have been on this good Earth, Stacey delights in thrilling his young apprentices with roguish tales of gaming history, full of surprising characters and epic derring-do. At other times, an unguarded Stacey may be observed in quiet reflection, perhaps remembering those who have been lost in the struggle to bring gaming to the mainstream. We salute our fallen brothers and sisters.
Whilst his advancing years may have blunted his reflexes, Stacey makes up for any such deficiency by utilising enormous amounts of lag, largely thanks to the incredibly poor Internet connection he enjoys from his stately pile on the coast. Nevertheless, despite being on the wrong end of several fearsome defeats and enjoying a somewhat lacklustre KD ratio, Stacey is a calm individual, at all times playing with a level of positivity and gentlemanly behaviour that many find surprising.
Stacey is a fan of Destiny, as it contains extra Nathan Fillion, and Halo, as it contains extra Nathan Fillion. His console and gaming collection is extensive, as is his Cupboard of Halo which, disappointingly, contains very little Nathan Fillion.
Stacey’s vote for Game of the Year 2015 was Life is Strange, and he is eager to sample more games that place characterisation and narrative at the forefront of design. Stacey plays on all current gen consoles, and on PC for the widest range of Indie games possible. He is currently both excited and reticent to experience That Dragon, Cancer.
A gentleman should always be observant of the political landscape in which one is operating, and Stacey is very grateful to the 5% of the population of his native land who swung the vote for independence in favour of the status quo. This allowed Stacey to work for a UK-based website whilst living under the auspices of an awful, despicable government that no-one in his country voted for. Totally a fair trade off.
To date, Stacey is the only member of the team to have written news in the form of an Olivier Award winning play in three Acts, or in poetry so beautiful it made the poet laureate weep. His most popular Tweet was a single word – Plinth – that garnered 15 likes, proving forever that less is, undoubtedly, more. He is Twitter friends with Juliet Landau, who follows him, and Clare Bowen, who does not.
The entire team at For ALL the Players wishes Stacey would cease to refer to himself in the third person, though he has no imminent plans to do so. Stacey likes all animals, especially cats, although if he was hungry enough he would eat a Panda sandwich.
